Cancellation Policy, Rules, Procedures, Disclaimer and Release
Costa Rica Stand Up Paddle Adventures (CRSUPAdv) Cancellation Policy (Please read in full)
We understand how special each and every Stand Up Paddle surf and flatwater trip is for our guests, so we do our best to work with everybody’s individual needs, wants and circumstances. With that in mind, once the decision has been made to book a trip and payment has been received, we stand firmly by our cancellation policy. We have a limited amount of Guides/Rooms/SUP-boards, so cancelling a trip last-minute impacts us greatly. Just as important is the fact that once a package/room/paddle-board is booked, that package/room/paddle-board becomes unavailable for someone who would have booked it otherwise.
Once we have received deposit or payment in full, the reservation is made on behalf of the guest and the cancellation policy is in effect.
Thank you very much for understanding!
Important Information Regarding our Refund Policy
1 – Make sure we have the board that you desire:
Before you commit yourself to airfare for a certain date, call us or verify by email there is still availability for your prospective trip. During busy periods we can receive several reservations on the same day. Do not assume you are confirmed until we have received your reservation deposit and sent out your reservation confirmation.
2 - Once you have confirmed a reservation our cancellation policy is activated, so wait to make a deposit until you are absolutely sure that you can make it.
We strongly suggest and recommend the purchase of an adequate travel insurance, which will both cover any medical expenses that you may incur due to illness and/or accidents while traveling abroad and any amounts you have already paid to us and anyone else in connection with your vacation in the event of a cancellation. We are not responsible for your medical, evacuation and/or repatriation expenses in the event of any illness, natural disaster and/or accident.
Payment implies acceptance of reservation and cancellation policies listed here and their acceptance plus agreement, understanding and acceptance with the disclaimer at the end of the document. Please read document in full.
Once a deposit is received, or a reservation is made on behalf of a guest by an agent, any cancellations or transfers are subject to the fees and terms listed here.
3 – If you have to cancel your trip:
If you are concerned about a financial loss due to your cancellation we recommend you purchase an adequate travel insurance, which will cover any amounts you have paid to us and anyone else in connection with your vacation and that also covers any medical expenses that you may incur while traveling abroad.
4 – Late arrival or departure:
Any conditions out of our control that delay your arrival or departure may add to your cost; all extra charges caused by delays (late luggage, extra flights, or catching up with a trip in progress) or any variations from the itinerary (early departure, evacuation) will be at customer expense.
No exceptions are made to our cancellation policy for any reason.
5 – Trip cancellation or interruption:
No partial refunds or credits will be given for unused services such as hotel rooms, paddleboard lessons, rentals, trips and other activities. Our trips are quoted as a package; credits are not given for services not used. The same applies to board rentals.
No refunds will be given for any reason.
6-Transferring to another date or selling your seat to lessen fees incurred:
If you have reserved a trip/package/paddle-board/tour/lesson and find that you can’t attend, please contact us. If you would prefer to transfer to another available date, you may transfer trip credit to a reservation within one year of your date of cancellation, on non-peak periods only, less the penalties listed below. Peak period dates are determined by CRSUPAdv and are subject to change. We cannot transfer reservations at no cost because once you sign up, numerous arrangements are made for you immediately and other potential guests have been denied your reserved space. You may sell your reserved trip/package/paddle-board/tour/lesson to another person you recruit at any time.
Reservation Deposits, Balance Payments, and Cancellation Fees
1) In order to confirm a reservation, the required deposits are 75% of the total, for tours, camp, or packages, for paddle and board rentals, or lessons and all these deposits are non-refundable but can be used toward another tour/camp/package/paddleboard rental/lesson, for another date as per the rules below (see 3 and 4).
2) For SUP camps or SUP packages, the balance is due 15 days prior to your arrival date for Green Season reservations, 30 days for High Season, and 45 days for Peak Season reservations. For equipment rentals, the balance is due at the time of rental, and for lessons or tours, it's due before the lesson or tour starts.
3) If you cancel 30 days or more prior to the first day of the SUP Tour, SUP Camp, SUP Lesson, or SUP Board rental that you registered for, your payment can be used for another SUP Tour, SUP Camp, SUP Lesson, or SUP Board rental. This is valid for one year from your date of cancellation, on non-Peak Season periods only, with an administrative transfer fee of 20% of the total of the reservation, per person. Green Season period dates are determined by CRSUPAdv and are subject to change.
4) If you cancel within 30 days of the first day of your SUP Tour, SUP Camp, SUP Lesson, or SUP Board rental, you will only receive the transfer option if you or we can fill your spot with an equivalent booking for the same dates. If you sell your spot, there is no fee and you receive your money from the person you sell it to. If we have to sell it for you and are able to sell it for you there will be an administrative transfer fee of $350 or 20% of the total of the reservation, whichever is bigger, per person, and you get the transfer fee option only, not a refund.
